Lingualab.io is my conceptual reading and listening web application. Lingualab.io gives students a focused reading and listening experience with materials crafted to increase retention of real-world phrases, not textbook grammar.

What I've Learned
The UI needs to facilitate the learning experience or be invisible – every extraneous click detracts from the experience and possibly reduces retention.
Too many functions takes away from the UX. I need to reduce the functions and focus on doing one thing incredibly well – creating an unmatched reading and listening self-study experience.
My initial target audience was far too wide. I tried to make something for students, teachers, admins, and enterprise customers. I'm currently scaling down to focus on a student-only approach first.
I can write, copy edit, format, and upload a full lesson in one day. That time can be reduced roughly 30% through automation without sacrificing quality.
I need a CTO to help take this to the next level!

Example Lesson
Each lesson is written to impart knowledge, not test it. The warm up questions are accompanied by audio of an example answer. The comprehension questions and answers are worded to help students choose the correct answer (increase motivation) while strengthening understanding of the concept or language in question.
